Rocco's Description.
He is a beautiful 7 month old puppy. He is very gentle and highly sensitive. He was found at South Grafton, chained to a fence with another dog. He had been left like this for 2 days and eventually found away to escape. He followed a young family home who could not afford to feed him. He was returned to the property only to find that his owner had moved out and the landlord was cleaning up the mess left behind. The other dog was taken to the pound by the landlord. Rocco was taken to the vet for a check up after being assessed by Carole Bryant as a well behaved dog without any obvious behavioural problems or issues. Rocco was not micro-chipped.
He is a reasonably active and energetic dog and he needs to complete basic manners and basic obedience classes. He is good with children and with the elderly as I have a 9 month old, 8 year old and a 14 year old in my house hold. I regularly visit an elderly lady up the road who uses a walking stick and a motorised scooter and none of my dogs, including Rocco, have reacted at all to these items. The elderly lady also has a beautiful german shepherd and all my dogs including Rocco have accepted her without a problem at all.
He has since been regularly wormed and treated for fleas using Advocate every month. I feed them on good quality pet biscuits such as IAMs, Royal Canin, ProPlan, Advance and Hills Science with a chicken carcass, turkey necks, lamb neck chops, beef brisket bones or roo tails every day.
All of my dogs have been well socialised and very friendly. They are all kept inside at night. They get taken to dog training every week at the Grafton Dog Obedience Club. In the case of Rocco he has just started at Grafton Dog Obedience Club last week.
For Rocco, he has had one C5 vaccination at $45.00 each; he is de-sexed at a cost of $175, micro-chipped at a cost of $25, heartworm tested at a cost of $45.00 and Heartworm injection at a cost of $85.00. giving a total of $375.00.
I am in Grafton and I move animals up and down the coast all the time. I use a company called Dogmovers who use an air-conditioned van and or special animal trailer. They are very good and can deliver to you or you could meet them at one of their nominated pick up spots. I have had a cat go to Launceston and a dog to Perth. For trips of that distance I use Australia Air Express from Coffs Harbour.
